What is being eco?
Being eco is all about having a lower impact as a person
on the whole environment. To do this we start by being aware of
everything we do that has an environmental impact. This includes the
food we eat, the clothes we wear, the energy in our home, the size and
type of home we live in, the transport we use etc.. Here every person
and their actions count! We can start by looking at these factors as a
person and try and help in every way possible to cut back on this
"footprint" we have.
Here are some simple examples of how to be
more eco:
- Buy food from local farmers and plan ahead
when shopping, so that you don’t see any food wasted.
- Buy clothes only when
you need them and pass on your unwanted ones.
- Use low energy lights and appliances.
- Use more energy efficient cars and public
transport.
- Use energy from
renewable sources, and not fossil fuels.
